Urethane cement flooring in Eastern Goleta Valley CA - a floor that takes heat and water
Kitchen floor flaking, staining or holding water after every wash-down? We prep the slab and lay a floor built for heat, water and strong cleaners.

Is urethane cement the right floor for your kitchen?
Urethane cement flooring in Eastern Goleta Valley is the floor we put down in kitchens, wash areas and other rooms that see hot water, spills and strong cleaners, because it's built for the same abuse commercial kitchens and food plants hand out every day. One maker sells it on moisture tolerance, chemical resistance, slip resistance you can adjust, and resistance to thermal shock, which is what happens when hot water hits cold concrete.
Most people call us when a kitchen or wash-down room has worn through its last coating, or when they're building one and want the floor done right the first time. The price moves with the size of the space and the state of the slab, mostly old coatings and cracks, and the schedule moves with prep and cure time, since nobody uses the room until the floor is ready. If the space is a garage that mostly sees cars, epoxy floor coatings usually make more sense, and the estimate I write will say which floor you need and how long the room is out of use.
How we install urethane cement flooring
Before anyone touches a grinder, we agree on who readies the slab, because one maker's prep guide makes the concrete under the new floor the owner's job unless the contract says otherwise. Then we prep. The same guide calls for laitance, the weak, powdery skin on top of the concrete, to come off by grinding or shotblasting along with any old coating or curing compound, so we grind until the slab is clean, sound and dry. I look at the cracks and joints before we start and tell you straight which ones are likely to show through later, because concrete keeps its secrets right up until it doesn't. Then the urethane cement goes down with the texture the room calls for, and we keep the space closed until it's ready for feet.
Not every floor needs this much armor. A dry room that never sees a hose can often get by with polished concrete flooring, and if what you want is color in the concrete rather than protection from what lands on it, stained concrete flooring is the better fit. I'll tell you at the estimate which one your space actually needs.
Urethane cement and slab work in Eastern Goleta Valley
Eastern Goleta Valley is unincorporated, so land use questions here sit with the County, not a city. Addresses around here answer to different offices, the County, a city or the campus, so we check with the right one before we schedule, and if your job needs a permit we pull it and fit the inspection into the plan. The other local rule that bears on this floor is the local air district's coating rule, which covers anyone who applies a coating in the district or hires someone to. Ask us how it bears on the product we propose, and we'll go through it with you before you choose.
One maker's product goes on concrete that isn't wet, with the slab between 40°F and 85°F, so on a damp morning we check the concrete before anything gets mixed. We see the same mix of kitchens, wash rooms and older cracked slabs on jobs in Goleta and Santa Barbara, and we prep them the same way.

Call or send the form
Call (805) 335-8374 or use the form, and we'll get back to you to set up a visit. Tell us what the room is used for and when it could close.
I come out and check
I walk the floor, look at the cracks, joints and any old coating, and write an estimate that says what the floor needs and how long the space is off limits. You see the price in writing before we schedule anything.
Our crew preps, then installs
Our own crew grinds the slab clean and dry, then puts down the urethane cement. Prep is the part we don't hurry, because that's where floors fail.
We walk the floor together
When it's done, we walk the finished floor with you. The room comes back in stages as it cures, and we give you those times for your floor before we leave.

Get your slab checked and a urethane cement estimate
We reply within 1 business day. I come out, look at the slab and write an estimate that says what the floor needs and how long the space will be out of use. It's free, and there's no obligation.
Questions before you book urethane cement flooring
How long does urethane cement flooring take to cure before we can use the room?
For one maker's product at 77°F and 50% humidity, light foot traffic can start after 12 hours, light wheel traffic after 24 hours, and full cure takes 7 days. Cooler or damper conditions can stretch that, so we plan the room's return in stages and put those stages in your estimate.
Will a urethane cement floor change color in the sun?
It can. One maker says its self-leveling urethane cement isn't UV stable and will discolor unless it's top coated with a UV-stable coating. If your floor catches sun through a door or window, we'll talk about that top coat at the estimate.
Will cracks in my concrete show through a new urethane cement floor?
They may. One maker warns that moving joints and cracks in the slab may show through the finished floor, since the concrete underneath keeps moving after the new floor goes on. That's why I point out the likely ones before we start.
How do I clean a urethane cement kitchen floor?
Clean it often with a neutral pH cleaner, one that's neither acidic nor harsh. One maker says the surface is nonporous, so dirt sits on top and comes off with frequent, thorough cleaning, and walk-off mats placed inside and outside the doors help the floor last longer.
How much does urethane cement flooring cost in Eastern Goleta Valley?
There's no honest number until I've seen the slab, because on this floor most of the cost sits in what's underneath. A clean, sound slab takes less prep than one carrying old coatings, curing compound and a map of cracks, and a sunny room may add a top coat. Your price comes from the estimate.
Is it safe to be home while urethane cement flooring is installed?
You can usually stay home, but plan to stay out of the room. One maker's cautions say the product is harmful if inhaled and may cause allergy or asthma symptoms or breathing trouble, so we close the work area off and keep people and pets out until we say it's clear.

Most floors that fail, fail at the bottom, so the first step is a look at your slab. Ask for an estimate or call (805) 335-8374.
Other floors that might suit your space
Polished Concrete Flooring
If the room stays dry and never sees hot wash-downs, polishing the slab you already have may give you a hard, easy-care floor without a coating.
Stained Concrete Flooring
When you want color in the concrete itself for a living space or patio, staining tints the slab and a sealer keeps it looking right.
